Tom Bischof to Don Jersey Number 20 for Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich's new midfielder Tom Bischof will wear the number 20 shirt, following in the footsteps of notable players like Hasan Salihamidžić.
Bayern Munich’s latest addition, young midfielder Tom Bischof, will sport the number 20 jersey for his new club. Bischof was officially unveiled on Friday alongside fellow newcomer and national teammate Jonathan Tah. While Tah’s number 4 was announced upon his signing, Bischof’s number was revealed later. Previously, Bischof wore the number 39 during his professional debut with TSG Hoffenheim and switched to number 7 in the 2024/25 season. For the national team, he debuted with number 26, which may change as his career progresses. The number 20 jersey at Bayern has been worn by notable players, including Arijon Ibrahimović, currently on loan to Lazio, and Bouna Sarr, who won the African Championship during his tenure. The most iconic wearer was former sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić, who won the Champions League in 2001. Fans hope Bischof will create his own legacy in the number 20 jersey.
