Traffic Constable Killed in Road Accident Near Hyderabad

A traffic constable died in a road accident involving a stationary lorry. Four ganja peddlers were also arrested in a separate incident.

A 40-year-old traffic constable, Mansingh, lost his life in a tragic road accident near Pasumamula village under Hayathnagar police station limits. The incident occurred on Thursday evening when Mansingh's motorcycle collided with a parked tipper lorry that lacked proper warning signals. The lorry, which had a flat tyre, was stopped without hazard lights or reflectors, making it nearly invisible in the evening light. Mansingh, a resident of Thorrur, was returning home after duty when the accident happened. Police have registered a case and are investigating the matter. In a separate incident, Hayathnagar police apprehended four ganja peddlers, including a Central government employee, and seized 166 kgs of ganja valued at approximately ₹65 lakh. The accused were en route to Maharashtra when they were caught during a routine vehicle check. The prime accused, Vikas Baban Salve, a native of Odisha, exploited the high demand for ganja among labourers in Maharashtra to profit from the illegal trade. The gang had been using Hyderabad as a transit route, a trend observed in recent NDPS cases in the area. All accused have been remanded to judicial custody.
